It's incredible to see how our waste team recycle old mattresses! ♻ 👉 We receive approximately 600-700 mattresses a month to process 👉 The mattress is taken apart and the steel is removed and sent for recycling, the foam is removed and sent to Brisbane for recycling. 👉 The foam is used to make acoustic panelling, boxing bags and carpet underlay. The Traditional Owners and original custodians of the land were the Kabi Kabi / Gubbi Gubbi people. Noosa Shire Council was re-established as a local government on January 1, 2014. It followed a hard-fought community campaign over several years to restore its shire following the amalgamation of three sunshine coast councils in 2008. Noosa Shire has an economy that is diversifying beyond a thriving tourism industry. It is recognised as a UNESCO Biosphere and has a proud history of preserving its natural environment. Thirty five percent of the Shire is protected as either national park, reserve or conservation area.

Our first annual Youth Festival was a huge success with young people and families coming from all over Noosa 👏 ❤️ The event brought the community together and developed resilience and strength in the young people and families being able to meet other people from the area, learn new skills and gather information from the numerous service stands located on the grounds. 🎸 The local bands provided a hit show rocking for hours in the memorial hall and got the crowd dancing. 🤙 Chiggys Skateboarding was a hit with the crowd with many youth finding a new passion for skateboarding 🎨 The various workshops throughout the day provided different activities for youth to learn a new skill
